School Services

As experienced school leaders we realize the value of constantly examining and enhancing your programs. We will work collegially with you to help identify strengths and support change as needed.

  • Innovative professional development activities can build teamwork within a school or classroom. It can energize staff, reduce stress and burnout, enhance creativity and problem-solving and improve communications among educators, parents, and school leadership. As we are experienced school leaders, you can expect a respectful and grounded collaborative approach. We look forward to partnering with you to develop a professional development activity or a customized series designed to bring meaningful results.

  • Coaching increases self-motivation and confidence. It enhances job satisfaction and staff retention. It can help you lead and manage with confidence as you develop or hone your leadership skills. We can work with your novice as well as experienced educators as they develop or refine their roles in student learning. Montessori Partners can also support your leadership team and your more seasoned educators as they learn to mentor others on a regular basis within the school.

  • New educators can feel overwhelmed when they try to translate their very intense teacher education experience into practical strategies to lead their first classroom. Our continuing education sessions support new educators as they navigate their first years, whether at the infant/toddler, Casa or elementary level. Participants are offered the opportunity to review presentations as needed, discuss the challenges and opportunities of their new roles with experienced Montessori leaders.

We are also pleased to provide workshops to inspire and re-invigorate seasoned educators who are seeking ways to enhance their practice.

These are powerful tools for educator recruitment and retention.

Educator Services

Excellent educators are professionals who continue to learn. Montessori Partners share our own love of learning grounded in Montessori Pedagogy and current research.

  • Work with our experienced partners to create a practical plan to achieve your school’s goals and attain long-term stability. Based upon our work with you on-site, we will offer customized recommendations designed to meet your needs, whether they relate to school leadership, educators, students, or parents. We can provide input about budgeting, planning, student retention, strategies to grow enrollment, and both internal and external communication. Recruiting, retaining, and assessing faculty is always difficult - we are here to help.

When it is time to extend to the next level or add a program, such as outdoor education, or diversity equity and inclusion, we have the knowledge and expertise to guide you through the exciting expansion process. Invite us to join your team and expand your resources.

  • Our consultants draw from their backgrounds as members and leaders of accreditation teams when they consult with your school. We conduct observations, offer in-depth findings and then work collegially with school leadership and educators to enhance your work..

Skilled observation of a classroom or across a whole school is the bedrock of accurate assessment and planning. It is imperative that educators observe in their own classrooms, yet it may not be happening with a skilled and directed eye - or happening as often as needed.

With our support, classroom educators learn how to integrate observation into their daily routine, how to translate their observations into plans and actions and communicate their findings sensitively to school leadership, other educators, staff, and parents.

  • We have created and led many successful dynamic workshops on a wide variety of topics for educators, school leaders, and parents. Choose from our menu, or talk to us about creating or customizing a workshop or a series to meet your school’s needs.

  • Working with a Board of Trustees involves a delicate balance between the roles and responsibilities of the Head of School, the Board Chair, and the Trustees. Clearly defined guidelines and processes are the foundation for a collaborative and supportive relationship. However, there is often little time for either the Volunteer Board or the Head to develop and implement them. Finding the measure that is “just right” for the Board’s involvement is critical. We can help. Our service on several Boards as school leaders and members give us unique insight into the functioning of Boards.

We know that Board efficiency and effectiveness are essential for good governance and the fulfillment of strategic initiatives that impact the success of the school. We understand your role and we can help you explore ways to work in partnership with your Board to strengthen your school.

Community Services

A Montessori education extends beyond the school and must involve the family to be sustainable. We will help you build and nurture your parent community in a manner that suits your goals and mission.

  • Innovative professional development activities can build teamwork within a school or classroom. It can energize staff, reduce stress and burnout, enhance creativity and problem-solving and improve communications among educators, parents, and administration. As we are experienced administrators, you can expect a respectful and grounded collaborative approach. We look forward to partnering with you to develop a professional development activity or a customized series designed to bring meaningful results.

  • Positively engaging parents is critical to building school stability. Ask us how we can help you strengthen the bonds between the school, educators, and your parent community. Workshops

We have created and led many successful dynamic workshops on a wide variety of topics for educators, administrators, and parents. Choose from our menu, or talk to us about creating or customizing a workshop or a series to meet your school’s needs.

  • This hands-on workshop will present the basic principles and practices of the Montessori method to paraprofessionals. By working with one piece of Montessori equipment classroom assistants will begin to understand the philosophical foundations of every interaction between teacher and child. This will enable them to be more active and educated participants as a team member in the environment.

The focus will be on the appropriate role of the adult both when interacting with children and when planning and maintaining the environment.

  • In this interactive workshop, parents will explore what might happen when we change the definition of discipline and what that means for long-term parenting goals.

Society tends to see discipline as a means to control children’s behavior. What if we could see it as a means for the child to develop a strong moral and ethical character? We will look at what is behind our own approach to discipline, and explore possible solutions to the challenges families face.

Through reflection and guided discussion, we will help educators to identify constructive, creative actions to address their students' needs.

  • Sending a child to the school office is often the response to the disruption caused when a child's dysregulated behavior affects the other children and the adults in the environment. While this can be an effective short-term solution there are better alternatives.

Starting from the premise that behavior is an attempt at communication, this workshop will examine how to respond in a way that preserves a peaceful learning environment, protects the child’s dignity, and preserves everyone’s emotional well-being.

Together we will reflect on our aims and our own perceptions of behavior, examine common disruptive scenarios and explore alternatives to sending children to the office!

  • A mutual understanding regarding the changes that occur between the first and second planes of development is critical to the cohesive functioning of a school. Often Casa teachers remark on the changes in their previous students now in the elementary classroom. Elementary teachers note that there are areas that need to be added to the Casa program. These two levels are often misunderstood by each other. This workshop will focus on the changes in behavior and attitude of the elementary child as they transition from the first to the second plane of development. This information will help educate teachers at each level so they can support and understand one another more fully and therefore be informed when speaking with parents.

  • Manual dexterity has decreased as the use of technology has increased. Practical Life in the Casa Program develops the pincer grasp and the hand in preparation for writing. Explore some strategies to strengthen and refine the hand through more complex practical life activities. Learn how to aid the child to form the letters correctly on paper. Learn about other alternatives to strengthen the hand, hold a pencil for comfort and success and use other forms of writing tools to have the elementary student succeed in writing. Let us show you what you can do.

  • Why are boys so active, sometimes seem to lack focus, and appear to not always be listening? Why are 5-year old-boys like wolf packs? Why do 6 and 7-year-old boys roll and tumble with each other? Find out how you can engage these eager and bright boys so that they are learning at their potential without you feeling frustrated.
